School Meals Funding

Under the Government’s Universal Infant Free School Meals funding, all children in EYFS, Yr 1 and Yr 2 are entitled to a freshly cooked school meal prepared in our own kitchen.

It’s important that parents and guardians eligible for Pupil Premium for their child or children (as outlined below) continue to apply for this as they continue through school to allow us to order free school meals and allocate other funding as appropriate.

Please refer to this leaflet for information about eligibility for free school meals.

Eligibility for Pupil Premium (including Free School Meals)

Pupil Premium, including Free school meals, is available for children who attend our school, regardless of whether they live in Luton or not, whose parent/guardian is receiving a qualifying benefit. Only children attending the school for at least one session before and one session after lunch can receive free school meals.

Your child will be entitled to free school meals if you or your partner receives any of the following benefits:

  • Income support

  • Income-based Job Seeker’s Allowance

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • The guarantee element of State Pension Credit

  • Child Tax Credit (and you are not getting Working Tax Credit) and have an annual income less than £16,190 shown on the TC602(a) Tax Credit letter

  • Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ (the payment you may receive for a further four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

  • Support from the National Asylum Support Service (NASS)
